RULES: North Florida King of the Beach UNBOUND — August 2, 2024

  1. General Entry fee is $1,000
  2. THE PAYOUT will be the TOP 3 Heaviest Fish (50/30/20)

    5. MUST be entered into the KING OF THE BEACH Tournament to fish in the UNBOUND.
  4. Captain’s Meeting and final registration is August 1, 2024 at 6 PM at Front Runner Boatworks – 965 Leonard C. Taylor Parkway, Green Cove Springs, FL
  5. Tournament fishing will be held on August 2, 2024.
  6. Awards will be held at 2 PM on August 4, 2024 at Front Runner Boatworks.
  7. This is a BIG FISH FORMAT tournament.
  8. Live bait may be purchased.
    1. Live bait may not be transferred from boat to boat.
    2. Purchased dead bait is permitted.
    3. Pinning live bait up before the tournament day is permitted.
  9. Winner is determined by heaviest fish. In case of a tie, the fish weighed first will win.
  10. You may leave from your inlet of choice no earlier than 5:30 AM on August 2, 2024.
    1. Fishing times are from 6:30 AM (lines in). There is no designated “lines out” time.
    2. You must be in line at the weigh-in by 5:30 PM.
  11. There are no boundaries for this tournament.
  12. All fish must be brought to the Northeast Florida Marlin Association to be weighed.
    1. Fish may be weighed by boat or vehicle.
    2. All fish become property of the tournament.
    3. Each fish weighed or donated earns a ticket for the Golden Ticket Drawing on August 4, 2024. You must be present to win.
  13. Scale opens at 3:00 PM. All teams must be in line by 5:30 PM.
  14. All fish must be caught on rod and reel using traditional King Mackerel methods.
    1. NO electric reels may be used to fight a kingfish. Electric reels are permitted for deploying and retrieving fishing kites only.
  15. Eligible fish must be of legal size with head, gills, fins, and tail intact.
    1. Marks other than gaff marks will be reviewed by the weighmaster and committee for eligibility.
    2. The fish must appear to have been caught under fair fight conditions.
    3. Please remove all hooks from your fish before weigh-in.
  16. After boating a fish, a photo with the official tournament-issued Boat Number on the water must be taken immediately.
    1. If no photo with the Boat Number is provided, the fish will be disqualified.
    2. Send the photo ASAP to Louis Joseph at 904-334-5892.
  17. Boats may win one prize in each category, excluding Calcuttas.
  18. The tournament reserves the right to deny entry to anyone for any reason.
    1. All protests must be submitted in writing with a $500 deposit within 30 minutes of the last fish being weighed on August 2, 2024.
    2. If the protest is upheld, the deposit will be returned.
  19. Captains and crews must follow all federal, state, and local fishing and boating laws.
    1. Any boat receiving a citation will be disqualified.
    2. All anglers must hold a valid Florida fishing license.
    3. No boats may come together unless in an emergency.
  20. Rules are subject to change at any time.
  21. Mason’s Voice Inc. 501(c)(3) will receive 10% of all entry and Calcutta fees collected.
